Principal Engineer, Software R&D (.NET)

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina, United States; hybrid work with a required minimum number of onsite days per week.

Salary: $120,000–$165,000 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications and services using C# and the .NET framework.
• Define technical requirements and solution designs with product managers, architects, developers, and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL services for application and integration needs.
• Write maintainable, high-quality code and contribute to engineering standards through code reviews and technical guidance.
• Troubleshoot complex defects, performance bottlenecks, and production issues.
• Support CI/CD, automated testing, mentoring, and continuous improvement with DevOps and engineering teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience focused on the .NET ecosystem, including C#, Web APIs, and modern application development.
• Strong experience with SQL Server or other relational database technologies and ORM frameworks such as Entity Framework or Dapper.
• Experience building and consuming HTTP-based services, including RESTful APIs and GraphQL architectures.
• Experience with cloud-based solutions in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS, plus knowledge of microservices and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Agile environments, and technical leadership.
