Executive Director, Maryland Chapter

Location: Remote, with residency required in the Baltimore, Maryland metropolitan area or willingness to relocate there. Overnight travel is required several times per year for staff offsites, retreats, and company-wide events; total travel is under 25%.

Salary: $106,000–$146,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead the Maryland chapter's strategy, operations, budget, programs, staff, volunteers, and long-term sustainability.
• Develop revenue plans and secure major gifts from corporations, foundations, philanthropies, government sources, and high-net-worth individuals.
• Recruit and steward a strategic local advisory board supporting fundraising, visibility, and community leadership.
• Build partnerships with civic, military, corporate, nonprofit, and philanthropic stakeholders across the region.
• Represent the organization at community events, coalitions, public forums, and partnership tables.
• Use data-driven evaluation, national KPIs, storytelling, and communications to measure and amplify chapter impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in community development, nonprofit leadership, or strategic partnerships.
• 5+ years of management experience with direct staff leadership.
• Proven ability to secure significant philanthropic gifts, including required six-figure gifts.
• Experience growing an organization, business unit, or major initiative and managing budgets, KPIs, planning, and teams.
• Experience managing an advisory board or similar governance structure, with strong executive communication and public-speaking skills.
• Must reside in the Baltimore metropolitan area, have extensive local experience, or be willing to relocate there. Availability for nights, weekends, and occasional overnight travel is required; ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs is also required.

• CRM experience, particularly Salesforce.
• Understanding of military culture and the lived experience of military families.
• Knowledge of hirify.global programs and the nonprofit network in the Hampton Roads area.
