Software Engineer – Product Analytics Platform (Go)

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate the Analytics API and infrastructure for product analytics events across Aura.
• Define event schemas, integration contracts, validation, reliability, and scalability requirements.
• Build a simple integration layer that enables product teams to send analytics events without coupling to underlying data infrastructure.
• Drive API adoption across engineering teams through collaboration, guidance, and documentation.
• Evaluate analytics and data-stack solutions such as Segment and BigQuery, keeping the API focused on event collection.
• Collaborate with the downstream data-pipeline team and Product Management; define the platform through RFCs and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Strong backend software engineering experience with Go as the primary language.
• Experience building and operating APIs, services, ingestion systems, or microservices used by other teams.
• Experience designing schemas, API contracts, backwards compatibility, validation, and integrations.
• Some TypeScript or JavaScript experience and comfort working across backend and frontend codebases; the role is primarily backend-focused.
• Familiarity with event-driven systems, data ingestion, or pipeline tools such as Segment and BigQuery.
• Ability to work independently, make pragmatic technical decisions, write RFCs and documentation, and collaborate across teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with observability, including tracing, logging, and metrics.
• Experience integrating with GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience with product analytics, event tracking, or telemetry systems.
