ISSO (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Perform security assessments of networks, systems, applications, and cloud environments.
• Support incident response planning and conduct security training sessions.
• Monitor compliance with federal security standards, regulations, and NTIA policies.
• Perform vulnerability scanning, log analysis, continuous monitoring, and remediation tracking.
• Prepare SAPs, SARs, POA&Ms, system security plans, and other documentation under the NIST RMF.
• Validate remediation effectiveness through retesting, evidence review, and compliance verification.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Business, or an associate degree with one year of relevant experience and a professional certification.
• At least one year of information technology experience; one year of ISSO experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of federal cybersecurity requirements, including NIST, FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP, and agency policies.
• Experience with audits, vulnerability assessments, security documentation, certification and accreditation activities, and mitigation tracking.
• Active Secret clearance required.

Nice to have

• CISSP or an equivalent cybersecurity certification such as Security+.
• Experience supporting federal contracts and coordinating with system owners, ISSOs, architecture teams, and cybersecurity leadership.
• Strong analytical, written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills.
