Software Engineer (PHP)

Location: Fully remote, Amsterdam, NL

What you will do

• Develop and maintain billing and payments features across the Blue domain.
• Refine product requirements and contribute to the design, implementation, and testing of technical solutions.
• Design simple, scalable solutions and improve the existing architecture with current engineering practices.
• Ship features end-to-end, monitor production systems, and respond to issues proactively.
• Write technical documentation, participate in code reviews, backlog planning, and agile team rituals.
• Collaborate through pairing or mob programming and share technical knowledge with teammates.

Requirements

• At least 2–3 years of professional software development experience or equivalent expertise.
• Hands-on production experience with PHP is required.
• Experience building, testing, and maintaining software with a focus on testability, maintainability, observability, and reliability.
• Knowledge of relational databases, Entity Relationship Diagrams, version control, and Git workflows.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Understanding of agile, Scrum, and DevOps lifecycles, including planning, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, Vue, distributed services, or event-driven applications.
• A well-curated portfolio and a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
