Student QA Engineer (Working Student) (Cybersecurity)

Location: Aachen, Germany; primary in-office days are Wednesday and Thursday

What you will do

• Review product features, technical requirements, and user workflows.
• Design, document, maintain, and execute structured manual test cases.
• Record test results, defects, observations, and QA documentation.
• Collaborate with development and product teams on expected behavior and acceptance criteria.
• Identify test cases suitable for automation and support automated tests using TypeScript.
• Assist with hardware interaction, test environment validation, OAB maintenance, and PKI security workflow testing.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Security, or a related field.
• Understanding of basic software testing principles and QA processes.
• Strong attention to detail, structured working habits, and clear documentation skills.
• Willingness to work across testing, documentation, and technical support tasks.
• Proficiency in English, written and spoken, is required.
• Availability for up to 19 hours per week during the academic term.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with a programming or scripting language, especially TypeScript.
• Interest in cybersecurity, PKI, or cryptographic systems.
• Experience with test management or defect tracking tools.
• Basic knowledge of automation tools or CI systems such as Jenkins.
