Location: On-site in Rivercess County, Liberia; open only to Liberian nationals currently located in Liberia.

What you will do
- Participate in orientation and training on the Most Significant Change methodology, qualitative interviewing, and ethical procedures.
- Conduct qualitative interviews with project participants in selected rural communities and facilitate participant storytelling.
- Record interviews with digital audio equipment, maintain detailed field notes, and review interviews daily for completeness and quality.
- Join debriefings, identify emerging themes and lessons, and flag inconsistencies or documentation gaps.
- Transcribe and translate interviews into English where required while preserving participants’ original meaning.
- Organize transcripts, audio recordings, consent forms, and field notes, and submit documentation according to agreed timelines.
Requirements
- At least a diploma or associate degree; a bachelor’s degree or relevant training in qualitative research, public health, nursing, or community health is beneficial.
- Experience with qualitative interviews, monitoring and evaluation, research, or learning activities is beneficial.
- Ability to speak and write English and communicate in local Liberian English.
- Strong active listening, probing, documentation, organization, confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, and ethical judgment.
- Ability to work independently in remote settings and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Must be a Liberian national currently located in Liberia and available for on-site fieldwork in Rivercess County.
Nice to have
- Previous experience using the Most Significant Change methodology.
- Ability to speak Bassa and translate local-language interviews into accurate English transcripts.
- Experience working in rural or hard-to-reach communities or with maternal, child, or community health programs.
- Experience using digital audio recorders and smartphones for data collection, plus basic Microsoft Word skills.
