Director of Clinical Development

Location: Desio, Milan, Italy

Salary: Up to EUR 100,000 annually, plus benefits and bonuses.

International contract research organization providing clinical research services for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and diagnostic studies across Phases I–IV and non-interventional research.

What you will do

• Support Business Development Managers and Directors in identifying and developing new business opportunities.
• Act as a key client contact during the pre-award and acquisition process, including client meetings, capability presentations, bid defenses, and sponsor meetings.
• Coordinate RFP activities across Clinical Operations, Medical, Proposal Writing, and other departments.
• Assess study feasibility, review client requirements, and provide clinical and strategic input for proposals.
• Coordinate proposal timelines, prepare client-facing materials, and support RFIs, vendor selection, and competitive quotations.
• Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities and travel internationally when required for client engagement.

Requirements

• Degree in a scientific field or discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in a CRO, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or similar environment, including clinical study or project management.
• Strong understanding of clinical research processes and ICH-GCP.
• Strategic and commercially oriented mindset with strong negotiation, communication, client relationship management, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent English and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint.
