Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Location: Remote; travel may be required for stakeholder meetings, training, presentations, or briefings.

What you will do

• Design, develop, train, test, and deploy AI and machine learning models and solutions.
• Collect, clean, analyze, and prepare datasets for AI/ML modeling.
• Identify AI-enabled automation opportunities that reduce manual effort and review cycles.
• Evaluate AI/ML solutions for performance, security, reliability, and enterprise suitability.
• Apply AI/ML capabilities to enterprise security engineering, testing, and analysis.
• Collaborate with data scientists, developers, cybersecurity engineers, architects, and domain experts while documenting models, risks, controls, and recommendations.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain the required VA background investigation, suitability determination, and system access.
• Master’s degree in artificial intelligence, business, cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, information assurance, information security, information resource management, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in IT security, data science, or software engineering, including at least 5 years designing, developing, or deploying AI/ML systems in enterprise or Government environments.
• Experience building, training, and deploying AI/ML models in production environments.
• Certification in one or more of IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III; certifications may substitute for a relevant bachelor’s degree or four years of relevant experience.
• A related PhD may substitute for up to five years of required experience.

Nice to have

• Federal or VA artificial intelligence experience.
• MLOps and AI lifecycle experience.
• Responsible AI, model governance, or AI security experience.
