Software Engineer (PHP)

Location: Fully remote from Bulgaria

What you will do

• Develop and maintain features across the billing and payments platform.
• Refine product requirements and contribute to the design, implementation, and testing of technical solutions.
• Design simple, scalable solutions and improve the existing architecture using current best practices.
• Ship features end-to-end and monitor production systems to identify issues early.
• Maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end testing suites.
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, backlog planning, pairing, and agile DevOps practices.

Requirements

• At least 2–3 years of professional software development experience, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Hands-on production experience with PHP is required; Python experience is a strong plus.
• Experience building, testing, and maintaining reliable, maintainable, observable, and testable software systems.
• Relevant experience with an RDBMS, entity relationship diagrams, version control, and Git workflows.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of agile practices, Scrum, and DevOps lifecycles.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed services and event-driven applications.
• Experience working with Vue.js.
• A well-curated portfolio and strong focus on customer satisfaction.
