Field Service Technical Specialist (Automotive)

Location: Rome, Italy. Flexible hybrid working model with field installations, demonstrations, training, and international travel of up to 40%.

What you will do

• Support new product design by analyzing user requirements, defining specifications, and conducting field and simulation testing.
• Provide technical support to customers, resellers, sales teams, installation partners, and installers.
• Define installation requirements and wiring schematics, troubleshoot issues, and support hardware and software integration.
• Create installer certification tests, update product modules, evaluate installer performance, and participate in audits.
• Maintain installation documents, product guides, videos, and training materials with Learning and Development teams.
• Support pilot projects, field demonstrations, partner qualification, surveys, invoicing processes, ticketing, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Post-secondary diploma, degree, or equivalent experience.
• Experience as an installation field service specialist in telematics, automotive, or a related field.
• Experience with OBD and CAN communications, SAE vehicle standards, serial data interfaces, and communications systems.
• Experience integrating hardware and software, with in-depth knowledge of automotive electronic components.
• Proficiency with automotive and electronics test equipment and hand tools.
• Ability to manage contractor relationships, multiple projects, and international travel of up to 40%.
