Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails/React/AWS)

Location: Remote; this position can be performed from any location. At least 4 hours of overlap with East Coast hours is required, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications with Ruby on Rails, React, and TypeScript.
• Architect secure backend solutions integrating multiple databases, data sources, RESTful APIs, and GraphQL services.
• Build responsive interfaces and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, indexing, performance, reliability, and security.
• Deploy and operate containerized applications on AWS using services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, and Route 53.
• Maintain Docker-based development, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and observability systems.
• Collaborate with product, design, business, and engineering stakeholders; participate in architecture decisions and mentor junior developers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software development experience building and maintaining production-grade web applications.
• Strong Ruby on Rails, Ruby, React, modern JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design experience.
• Experience with PostgreSQL database design and performance tuning, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, API security, MVC, ORM, and domain-driven design.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, CI/CD, Git, AWS deployments, secure application development, authentication, authorization, and OWASP practices.
• Ability to independently design, debug, test, and maintain production-quality code while critically reviewing AI-generated code.
• Ability to overlap East Coast hours from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, event-driven applications, Redis, Sidekiq, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, or infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and AI/LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or AWS Bedrock.
• Advanced or fluent Russian or Belarusian language skills.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience mentoring developers and leading technical initiatives.
