Senior Accountant, Construction (Renewable Energy)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; hybrid office attendance is expected on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Salary: $101,000–$112,000 annually in San Diego. The overall U.S. salary range is $83,000–$122,000, with eligibility for an annual cash bonus.

What you will do

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for financed and non-financed construction projects.
• Analyze general ledger accounts, income statements, balance sheets, and equity transactions, and prepare financial statements.
• Prepare monthly draw packages and maintain supporting documentation for financial statement assertions and internal controls.
• Prepare quarterly unaudited and annual audited financial statements under GAAP for projects with tax equity and cash equity structures.
• Support standalone, parent, affiliate, and external auditor requests, including financial statements, footnote schedules, and audit selections.
• Collaborate with Treasury, Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Tax, Portfolio Finance, and technical accounting teams on reporting and special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
• At least four years of general accounting experience.
• Knowledge of an ERP accounting system and proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel-based financial analysis.
• Practical understanding of internal controls over financial accounting and reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• No visa sponsorship or employment authorization sponsorship is available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• CPA certification and/or a master’s degree in accounting.
• Public accounting experience.
• SAP experience.
• Energy industry or real estate experience.
