Scientist II, Chemistry (Production Analytical Chemistry)

Location: Austin, Texas; site in Burnet, Texas. Onsite role with four 10-hour second-shift days per week, 2:00 PM–12:00 AM, rotating weekends, and changing shift assignments.

What you will do

• Perform routine and non-routine chemical and physical analyses using ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GC, GC/MS, HPLC, IC, XRF, UV-Vis, NIR, and Karl Fischer instrumentation.
• Document, process, transfer, and review analytical data for conformity, traceability, validity, and customer requirements.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair analytical instruments, laboratory tools, chemicals, and consumables.
• Support continuous improvement, method development, method validation, and testing-practice initiatives.
• Present analytical data and serve as a subject matter expert on cross-functional manufacturing and engineering teams.
• Train personnel in sample analysis and laboratory procedures while maintaining safety, quality, and cleanliness standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining analytical instrumentation.
• Knowledge of analytical techniques involving LC, LC-MS, IC, IC-MS, GC, GC-MS, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, and trace metals; cleanroom experience is strongly preferred.
• Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office; LIMS experience is preferred.
• Ability to safely handle and dispose of chemicals, maintain a clean workspace, and complete laboratory work accurately and independently.
• Availability for four 10-hour evening shifts per week and rotating weekend coverage is required.
