Cloud Database Administrator (Azure/AWS)

Salary: CAD 79,000–110,000 per year

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and monitor Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases across Azure and AWS.
• Automate database infrastructure and maintenance through Infrastructure as Code pipelines and manual builds.
• Optimize queries, diagnose performance issues, and maintain high availability and performance SLAs.
• Implement backups, failover solutions, disaster recovery plans, and recovery testing.
• Manage database security, user access controls, incidents, changes, escalations, and audit support.
• Participate in a global on-call roster and collaborate with cloud engineers and developers on database solutions.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a database administrator in Azure and/or AWS environments.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL, including database design and optimization.
• Ability to work in high-availability or mission-critical environments and manage changing priorities independently.
• Ability to participate in an on-call roster and work outside normal business hours when required.
• Strong problem-solving, multitasking, self-management, and time-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or Power BI.
• Familiarity with cloud cost optimization and capacity planning.
