Live Events Director (Gaming)

Location: Remote (USA); applicants must be based in the United States. International travel and occasional weekend or nontraditional hours are required.

What you will do

• Set the long-term strategy and annual roadmap for competitive events, fan experiences, premieres, partner activations, company gatherings, and new event concepts.
• Lead major live experiences by aligning creative, competition, broadcast, content, hospitality, operations, and external partners.
• Build budgets, schedules, production plans, master event plans, and physical run-of-show documents.
• Source, negotiate with, and manage venues, hotels, agencies, fabricators, production vendors, and local crews across multiple markets.
• Define success metrics across attendance, fan experience, content performance, community growth, partner value, revenue, and brand impact.
• Establish tools, approval processes, budget models, production standards, and post-event reviews to improve delivery at scale.

Requirements

• More than 10 years of experience delivering major live, experiential, or broadcast events.
• Experience as the accountable lead for complex events involving broadcast, content, or competition.
• Experience managing large event budgets, including forecasting, vendor negotiation, contracting, and reconciliation.
• Experience sourcing and operating venues, hotels, and production partners across multiple markets or countries.
• Ability to combine long-term strategy, executive communication, detailed delivery, and cross-functional alignment without relying on direct reporting authority.
• Must be based in the United States and willing to travel internationally several times each year.

Nice to have

• Experience in esports, sports, music, entertainment, gaming, or large-scale brand experiences.
• Experience with fan conventions, festivals, expos, or other audience-focused event formats.
• Experience building an events function or developing new event concepts from the ground up.
• Understanding of how live events, broadcast, social content, creators, partnerships, and community growth work together.
