Director, Event Technology II (Audio-Visual)

Location: New York, New York, United States. On-site work in a hotel/convention center environment, including irregular hours, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability.

Salary: $86,178.00–$100,000.00 per year.

What you will do

• Manage revenue, profitability, labor, equipment costs, billing, forecasting, and the location P&L.
• Lead daily event operations, including scheduling, equipment setup, operation, strikes, inventory control, and safety procedures.
• Develop sales strategies, prepare quotes and proposals, support site visits, and identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
• Build relationships with customers, venue personnel, vendors, and internal departments to deliver successful events.
• Oversee technical execution, guide technicians through equipment and software troubleshooting, and act as the on-site technical expert.
• Manage staffing, performance, training, coaching, and development for the event technology team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of audio-visual experience and 2 years of operations or supervisory experience.
• At least 3 years of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of audio-visual equipment in a live show environment.
• Proficiency with computer hardware, software, the Internet, and Microsoft Office.
• Effective leadership, customer satisfaction, communication, and problem-solving skills. A valid driver’s license is required for team members who operate company vehicles.
