Emergency Vehicle Technician

Location: NS Fleet Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada; onsite fleet and service-center work with travel to other fleet centers when required.

What you will do

• Operate fleet vehicles according to EMC and EHS policies and procedures.
• Complete mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance for ambulances and support vehicles.
• Maintain detailed work orders, inspection sheets, parts records, labor times, and end-of-day status reports.
• Identify required mechanical parts, supplies, and tools for daily ordering.
• Service and repair operational base generators and provide coverage at other fleet centers when required.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, productivity, and customer service standards when working with vendors, colleagues, paramedics, and the public.

Requirements

• Five years of experience as a Red Seal Certified Automotive Service Technician.
• Current Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Technician Red Seal Certification in good standing.
• Valid Nova Scotia Class 4 Driver’s License in good standing.
• Strong practical knowledge of motor vehicle repair, workload management, basic computer programs, and inventory control.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, decision-making, initiative, and independent-work skills.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain EVT and Safety Data Sheet certifications, complete ASE certifications, and undertake emergency vehicle repair training.
