Software Engineer (C++/C#)

Salary: $135,815–$141,130 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain SDK frameworks and demonstration applications for identity document scanning hardware.
• Develop low-latency image preprocessing pipelines for image enhancement, auto-cropping, and region-of-interest extraction.
• Integrate and optimize OCR and barcode decoding libraries within the core SDK.
• Define device communication protocols and troubleshoot USB, serial, and PC/SC hardware interfaces with firmware engineers.
• Port SDKs, recognition libraries, and applications to Linux, embedded systems, tablets, and edge devices.
• Develop RESTful APIs and WebSocket-based communication architectures and write technical documentation for B2B clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Image Processing, or a related technical field.
• 3–5+ years of professional software development experience with C++ and C#/.NET.
• Hands-on experience with computer vision libraries such as OpenCV, raw sensor data, camera calibration, or frame-level manipulation.
• Experience with Windows or Linux systems programming and embedded systems.
• Ability to work onsite in San Diego, California, US.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills for technical documentation and collaboration with global technical teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with OCR, PDF417, QR code, or other 1D/2D barcode decoding libraries.
• Experience with Linux systems programming, Android or tablet integration, and resource-constrained industrial devices.
• Experience with CMake, Qt, or multi-OS packaging tools.
• Experience interfacing software with hardware through USB, serial, or PC/SC protocols.
