Software Engineer (ICB 4)

Location: On-site at 5465 Legacy Dr, Plano, TX 75024, USA

Annual base salary: USD 109,700–175,500, plus discretionary bonus and equity opportunities.

hirify.global’s Mainframe Software Division develops Gen, a low-code, model-driven environment for generating and deploying enterprise applications across multiple platforms.

What you will do

• Research, develop, and implement secure, high-quality software for Gen’s distributed, non-mainframe applications.
• Maintain and enhance core product capabilities through hands-on coding, code reviews, and technical design.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer cases escalated to engineering.
• Define security standards and testing strategies while maintaining a simple user experience.
• Produce technical blogs, webinars, and documentation on development and security best practices.
• Advise enterprise customers on complex requirements, Gen modernization, and security practices.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of software development experience.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or an equivalent degree.
• Hands-on expertise with Java, C#, C, and/or C++.
• Experience with Windows, Unix, Linux, and relational databases.
• Experience designing and using web APIs such as gRPC and REST.
• Strong analytical, debugging, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud-native architectures, containers, .NET, application servers, TCP/IP, or Eclipse.
• Knowledge of language servers, compilers, microservices, object-oriented programming, or component-based development.
• Experience with cybersecurity principles, cryptography, secure coding, access controls, passkeys, or TLS.
• Experience with test automation, CI/CD, GitHub, Python, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, or Spring Boot.
• Experience with mainframe technologies or developing and maintaining Gen.
