Operations Trainee (Oil and Gas)

Location: Pascagoula, Mississippi, United States; onsite refinery work with frequent outdoor duties, work at heights up to 200 feet, confined-space work, and rotating 12-hour shifts.

What you will do

• Operate refinery process, treating, utility, storage, and product-transfer systems.
• Control process units from the field and control room using manual and automated valves, pumps, meters, and control systems.
• Coordinate field execution and process moves while meeting production, reliability, safety, and environmental objectives.
• Perform maintenance, housekeeping, emergency-response, cargo-connection, and chemical-transfer activities.
• Work with multiple departments to prioritize operations, resolve issues, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
• Complete the refinery’s Formal Operator Training Program within three years of hire.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of work experience, or an associate’s/technical degree in process technology.
• Valid driver’s license; routine driving within the facility is required.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, overtime, and on-call assignments at the Pascagoula refinery.
• Commitment to safety-sensitive operations, incident prevention, and reliability.
• Ability to wear required PPE and work outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces.

Nice to have

• Experience in oil and gas, energy, petrochemical, chemical, refinery, production, process control, utility, terminal, or emergency-response operations.
• Associate’s or technical degree from a process technology or related CGIA-endorsed program.
• Military, Women in Construction, or similar technical program experience.
