What you will do

• Provide disciplinary and technical leadership to Software Engineers, including coaching and professional development.
• Own technical initiatives from concept through production, covering planning, architecture, quality assurance, and ongoing development.
• Prioritize technical topics with Product Owners and manage dependencies, risks, and required investments.
• Review technical solutions and ensure compliance with engineering standards, best practices, and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, customer-facing teams, management, and external partners to connect technical opportunities with business needs.
• Modernize the platform while improving stability, performance, maintainability, scalability, and day-to-day operational reliability.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in software development, software architecture, and technical communication.
• Substantial experience with Java, ideally including Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, clean code, databases, APIs, and the full software development lifecycle.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing Software Engineers in both technical and disciplinary capacities.
• Ability to analyze complex codebases, make architectural decisions, structure technical projects, and deliver them with multiple stakeholders.
• Fluent English in written and spoken communication is required. German proficiency is an advantage.

Nice to have

• Experience with JavaScript frontend frameworks such as Vue.js or React.
• German language proficiency.
