Junior Software Engineer - Backend (Java)

Location: Mannheim, Germany; hybrid work with three days per week in the office

What you will do

• Assist with the design and development of Java-based enterprise software, focusing on backend systems.
• Develop Java services and components for the hirify.global HUB platform.
• Collaborate in an agile team and learn from senior developers.
• Contribute to scalable, high-quality solutions for enterprise customers.

Requirements

• Foundational knowledge of Java or JavaEE and willingness to learn Spring.
• Basic understanding of databases; SQL or NoSQL knowledge is useful.
• Familiarity with web service development or integration, including REST or SOAP.
• Interest in automated testing principles and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Git and a collaborative, agile mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cassandra or other NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of distributed systems.
• Interest in OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or similar technologies.
