SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting Consultant

Location: Remote role associated with Boston, MA and the United States

Company

Clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing genetic medicines for neuromuscular and inherited retinal diseases, including programs for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and myotonic dystrophy type 1.

What you will do

• Lead preparation of the annual Form 10-K and support earnings releases, Form 8-Ks, proxy materials, and external reporting schedules.
• Coordinate the annual external audit, manage reporting timelines, and prepare Audit Committee materials.
• Review the annual tax provision and disclosures, conduct technical accounting research, and document accounting conclusions.
• Support complex accounting areas, monthly close activities, emerging accounting guidance, and accounting policy implementation.
• Lead year-end SOX 404(a) compliance, review SOC 1 reports, and coordinate SOX testing with third-party consultants.
• Support Disclosure Committee activities, determine financial statement materiality thresholds, and handle ad hoc projects with the Corporate Controller.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree with 7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Experience working within a public-company reporting structure and preparing public-company reports.
• Strong technical accounting research and analysis capabilities.
• Extensive knowledge of SOX 404(a) controls and requirements.
• Strong Microsoft Office proficiency, communication skills, organization, and ability to perform effectively through change.
• Interim full-time availability from approximately mid-November 2026 through early March 2027.

• Experience at a top accounting firm and in a life sciences environment.
• Experience with collaboration revenue recognition under ASC 606.
• Knowledge of income tax accounting under ASC 740.
• Experience with Workiva.
