Student Technician (Laboratory Research)

Location: College Station, Texas, United States; onsite laboratory work

What you will do

• Assist researchers and laboratory scientists with daily laboratory tasks and experimental workflows.
• Prepare, process, label, and log samples using laboratory techniques and instruments.
• Perform weighing, pipetting, autoclaving, sterilization, and routine equipment cleaning and calibration.
• Maintain laboratory benches, microscopy areas, autoclave rooms, and shared instrument spaces.
• Receive and ship packages and samples, manage inventory, restock supplies, and maintain records.
• Follow laboratory safety guidelines and support compliance with standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• Current undergraduate or graduate student at Texas A&M University.
• Previous laboratory experience is required; role-specific training will be provided.
• Study in biology, chemistry, chemical or biological engineering, biochemistry, food science, nutrition, biomedical sciences, agriculture, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions, work with minimal supervision, manage time effectively, and perform detailed routine tasks.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move equipment and supplies weighing up to approximately 25 pounds.
• Employment is subject to a criminal history investigation and credential verification.
