Field Engineer (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: On-site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with travel across the Middle East up to 75% of the time. The role follows mining rotations and requires approximately two months remaining on-site for the current Ma’aden demo.

Develops and deploys production-ready autonomous vehicle and autonomous haulage technology for mines, quarries, and construction sites.

What you will do

• Deliver autonomous haulage projects against agreed performance metrics and success criteria.
• Lead the local field team, including permitting, scheduling, safety compliance, and performance management.
• Ensure customer readiness, including resource commitments, machine availability, and site, route, and equipment preparation.
• Coordinate communication between the customer site and headquarters, providing progress reports and escalating technical or operational blockers.
• Adapt mine operating processes for autonomous haulage and lead customer training and formal system handover.

Requirements

• 15+ years of direct mining experience in a mine-site environment.
• 5–10 years of leadership experience, such as Site Superintendent, Maintenance Manager, or Fleet Manager.
• Experience participating in technology rollouts involving autonomy, remote operations, telematics, or machine control systems.
• University degree in Mining Engineering required.
• Strong operational authority, adaptability, and written and verbal communication skills for executive-level stakeholders.
• Ability to work on rugged mine sites, in extreme environmental conditions, and meet site-specific medical and safety requirements.
