Support Systems Engineer (HL7)

Location: Remote, United States only

Base salary: $62,000–$77,500 USD per year, with potential incentive compensation and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Deploy, configure, and support transplant, medication, and patient management software platforms.
• Troubleshoot operating systems, SQL and Oracle databases, application interfaces, and customer connectivity.
• Maintain HL7 interfaces, including custom filtering and performance monitoring.
• Configure remote connectivity and VPN solutions for customer sites.
• Manage support tickets, implementation plans, project timelines, and SLA commitments.
• Document configurations and troubleshooting procedures while coordinating with cross-functional teams to improve system performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in systems engineering, implementation, and automation.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries and manage Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases.
• Experience with SAP Crystal Reports and software interface troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Active Directory and VPN protocols, including Cisco, Nortel, and RDP.
• Availability for on-call support one week per month.

Nice to have

• Biomedical systems engineering experience.
• Familiarity with IIS Web Services and website management.
• Knowledge of Python, C++, or JavaScript.
• Experience with data conversions and network administration.
