Advanced AI Scientist (GenAI)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States

Salary: $138,800–$208,200 annual base pay, plus a target annual cash incentive of 15% of base pay.

What you will do

• Develop and deliver AI and GenAI solutions using LLMs, foundation models, RAG, multimodal AI, and agentic technologies.
• Build advanced agentic applications with multi-agent orchestration, planning and execution, tool calling, MCP/A2A, memory, state, and adaptive execution.
• Engineer reliable AI systems through model selection, prompt and context engineering, evaluation, benchmarking, guardrails, and continuous improvement.
• Develop evaluation and observability capabilities for task completion, agent behavior, tool use, quality, reliability, latency, and cost.
• Build, deploy, operate, troubleshoot, and optimize production-grade AI software integrated with enterprise applications, APIs, data, and customer workflows.
• Lead technical delivery for strategic customers and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams from discovery through production adoption.

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, computer science, computer engineering, operations research, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or software engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, foundation models, RAG, multimodal AI, prompt and context engineering, and AI application development.
• Strong expertise in agentic AI, including multi-agent systems, orchestration, planning, tool calling, agent memory and state, MCP/A2A, and related patterns.
• Strong software engineering skills with Python and/or Java, Go, or TypeScript.
• Experience deploying and operating production AI systems with attention to security, reliability, performance, scalability, observability, and cost efficiency.

Nice to have

• Experience rapidly evaluating emerging AI technologies and translating concepts into production-ready solutions.
• Experience with hallucination mitigation, guardrails, benchmarking, and continuous improvement of AI systems.
