Generative AI Specialist

Location: 100% remote within the Continental United States

What you will do

• Define organization-wide standards, patterns, and reference architectures for LLM-based applications.
• Design prompt structures, instruction templates, retrieval strategies, and agentic systems with tool use, planning, memory, and multi-step reasoning.
• Lead retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, including chunking, indexing, and reranking strategies.
• Develop evaluation frameworks, internal tooling, libraries, safety guardrails, and policy enforcement patterns.
• Review LLM application designs, mentor engineers and applied scientists, and collaborate on prompt-model co-design and fine-tuning.
• Lead red-teaming, improve robustness, and optimize latency, cost, and quality across production applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
• Six or more years of software engineering experience, including significant work with production LLM-based applications.
• Deep familiarity with modern LLM APIs, agent frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Experience designing evaluation pipelines for non-deterministic systems and strong Python skills.
• Understanding of responsible AI, safety, and policy considerations.
• Strong communication skills and experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.

Nice to have

• Public writing, talks, or open-source contributions related to LLM application development.
• Experience with multi-agent architectures, complex tool-use systems, and fine-tuning workflows.
• Experience integrating LLMs into enterprise software with strict compliance requirements.
