Junior Data Scientist

Location: Warrenton, Virginia, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office. Full-time, 40 hours per week, with 0% travel. US citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.

Salary: $60,000–$70,000 per year, based on relevant experience.

What you will do

• Collect, clean, store, analyze, and visualize resident data using tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
• Support automation of resident data collection through ETL processes.
• Use Python and SQL for data processing, querying, and validation.
• Prepare data for integration with Microsoft Dataverse.
• Maintain data infrastructure in line with data governance and security requirements.
• Create reports and dashboards that support operational and strategic decision-making while collaborating with stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences, computer engineering, information technology, computer science, or a related field.
• Zero to two years of experience in data analysis, data management, or a related area.
• Basic knowledge of Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI through coursework, certification, or professional experience.
• US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a matrix-managed environment.

Nice to have

• Experience developing Tableau or Microsoft Power BI dashboards.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Experience using Python and SQL for data processing and analysis.
• Familiarity with ETL processes, Microsoft Dataverse, or data governance practices.
