Registered Nurse-Medical-Surgical-Oncology Full-Time Days

Location: 1 Kish Hospital Dr., DeKalb, Illinois, United States; onsite day shift

Salary: $36.50–$58.40 per hour

What you will do

• Deliver evidence-based inpatient nursing care to medical-surgical oncology patients and their families.
• Assess physical, psychological, emotional, cultural, and environmental factors affecting each patient.
• Develop, update, and evaluate individualized nursing plans of care with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Administer medications and treatments safely, provide pain management, and educate patients and families.
• Monitor diagnostic data and changing conditions, initiate appropriate interventions, and communicate status changes to the care team.
• Coordinate discharge planning, referrals, patient education, documentation, and care conferences.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• An Associate Degree in Nursing is acceptable with a commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of starting the clinical nurse role.
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and analytical skills.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check is required for new hires.
