Senior Staff Engineer – Performance and Observability

Annual salary: $110,000–$260,000

What you will do

• Improve monitoring, logging, alerting, observability, and performance for deployed systems.
• Design, deploy, and manage OpenStack-based cloud environments.
• Develop automation scripts and playbooks with Python, Ansible, and GitHub Workflows.
• Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application delivery.
• Support containerization initiatives using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Troubleshoot cloud and automation workflows, collaborate across engineering, operations, and security, participate in on-call support, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, platform administration, or infrastructure automation.
• 8+ years of experience with OpenStack or similar cloud platforms, Python, Ansible, CI/CD systems, and containerization technologies.
• Strong expertise in cloud monitoring, logging, alerting, observability, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, infrastructure as code, deployment automation, and cloud networking and security.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or on-premises infrastructure.
• Experience with QEMU or libvirt virtualization technologies.
• OpenStack administration and operations experience.
