IT SOX and Compliance Manager (Telecommunications)

Location: Newbury, United Kingdom; hybrid working with office attendance 2–3 days per week and at least 8 days per month.

What you will do

• Lead and strengthen IT governance, risk awareness, and internal controls across technology and engineering teams.
• Implement and manage Global IT Controls within systems subject to SOX compliance requirements.
• Oversee control testing, quality assurance reviews, remediation, and investigations into control weaknesses.
• Partner with internal, external, and regulatory auditors to support efficient, value-focused audits.
• Provide training, guidance, and practical solutions to control owners and managers.
• Act as a subject matter expert during technology and business transformations while leading, coaching, and developing a team of three specialists.

Requirements

• Experience designing, implementing, or assessing SOX control frameworks in IT environments.
• Background in internal audit, external audit, IT risk, advisory, or SOX compliance.
• Strong knowledge of IT risks, processes, and controls, including change management, user access management, and IT operations.
• Understanding of IT systems, governance frameworks, policies, and control environments, ideally in technology or telecommunications.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, organisation, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate complex control requirements into practical business solutions.

Nice to have

• CISA, CIA, or an equivalent IT audit qualification.
• Experience driving sustainable process improvements and organisational change.
