Area Manager, Compounding Facilities (Pharmaceutical Maintenance)

Location: Gilbert, Arizona, United States; on-site; availability to work any shift in a 24/7 pharmacy operation

What you will do

• Provide predictive and preventive maintenance for pharmacy laboratory equipment, including tablet presses, blenders, mills, hoods, tablet coaters, air compressors, and electrical controls.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and test equipment across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, air compression, and HVAC systems.
• Maintain maintenance charts, equipment logs, calibration records, validation reports, assets, parts, and work orders in the CMMS.
• Respond to breakdowns, emergencies, and production interruptions while coordinating repairs with production personnel to minimize downtime.
• Identify safety, compliance, efficiency, and cost-saving improvements and collaborate with quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and cross-functional teams.
• Communicate facility risks to management and support safety and health standards throughout the pharmacy.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age.
• 3+ years of pharmaceutical industry maintenance or engineering experience and 3+ years of formal leadership experience with direct reports.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining advanced technical equipment, PLC systems, and CMMS systems.
• Formal training or certification in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, air compression, PLC systems, or HVAC.
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and project management applications and to document and interpret maintenance data.
• Ability to work on-site in Gilbert, Arizona, on any shift and meet physical requirements including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders and stairs, and using lifts.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility or pharmacy with laboratory equipment.
• 5+ years of electrical knowledge and electronic principles.
• Advanced degree or training in engineering, maintenance, or a related field.
• Advanced formal training in lean or Six Sigma.
• Bilingual Spanish capability.
