Sr. Scientist I (Fragrance Delivery)

What you will do

• Lead technical programs in fragrance delivery, encapsulation, controlled release, formulation, and related technologies.
• Develop experimental strategies and project plans aligned with innovation, commercialization, and business objectives.
• Design and execute experiments, interpret complex data, define next steps, and communicate scientific conclusions.
• Identify new materials, ingredients, process routes, and technology platforms that provide technical or competitive advantages.
• Support scale-up, manufacturing readiness, technology transfer, and commercialization with Process R&D, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial functions.
• Prepare technical documentation, invention disclosures, patent-support materials, reports, and presentations while mentoring junior scientists, engineers, and technicians.

Requirements

• PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Colloid Science, Physical Chemistry, or a related discipline; alternatively, an MSc with substantial relevant industrial R&D experience.
• Experience in R&D, technology development, formulation, materials science, encapsulation, delivery systems, or related fields.
• Ability to lead technical workstreams, coordinate projects, manage complexity, and structure ambiguous technical problems into hypotheses, experiments, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Strong scientific expertise and the ability to design, interpret, and communicate complex technical findings to global and cross-functional audiences.
• Ability to influence multidisciplinary teams, support strategic decisions, and deliver technically rigorous solutions with commercialization value.
• Strong commitment to safety, documentation quality, compliance, scientific rigor, and execution excellence.

Nice to have

• Experience with microencapsulation, fragrance or flavor delivery systems, controlled release, consumer product formulation, polymer science, colloid science, interfacial science, materials science, physical chemistry, or analytical characterization.
• Experience supporting scale-up, manufacturing transfer, process development, and commercialization of new technologies.
• Track record of technical leadership, invention disclosures, patents, publications, external collaborations, or technology scouting.
• Experience in home care, personal care, fine fragrance, flavors, consumer products, or specialty materials.
