Bioinformatics Engineer (Nextflow)

What you will do

• Create robust and reproducible scientific workflows with Nextflow for data analysis and visualization.
• Develop solutions that increase adoption of hirify.global products among customers.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud data infrastructures for next-generation sequencing, imaging analysis, machine learning, and other large datasets.
• Engage customers to define requirements, prepare deliverables, coordinate projects, and provide training.
• Communicate project plans, requirements, deliverables, documentation, and service updates through writing and presentations.
• Represent customer needs and collaborate with content, research, and software development teams.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of the Nextflow language and nf-core pipeline development approaches.
• Programming experience with Groovy, Python, and R.
• Experience with analysis pipelines and algorithms for genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, or other omics data.
• Experience with HPC and public cloud architectures, including AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Ability to explain technology clearly through code, writing, presentations, and demonstrations.
• Experience using Git or another version control system in a software development environment.

Nice to have

• PhD in bioinformatics or a relevant field, or a master’s degree plus three years of experience.
• Four or more years of experience with scientific workflows and software development.
• Experience maintaining orchestrated data infrastructures and scalable pipelines for large datasets.
• Production bioinformatics code demonstrated through public repositories, publications, or open-source contributions.
