ABL Relationship Manager (Asset-Based Lending)

Location: Chicago, IL, United States; office workplace

Salary: $93,000–$208,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for applicable incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Manage complex direct and agent asset-based lending transactions across an assigned client portfolio.
• Evaluate borrower financial data, collateral trends, industry conditions, and economic factors to assess credit viability and risk.
• Prepare portfolio management reports, credit requests, amendments, waivers, renewals, and annual credit reviews.
• Review field exams, appraisals, collateral reporting, reserves, ineligible changes, and other credit solutions.
• Develop client relationship strategies, maintain communication with borrowers and agent banks, and support cross-selling of bank products.
• Present credit analysis, risk assessments, and rating recommendations to senior management and credit committees.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in asset-based lending with demonstrated success managing complex portfolios.
• Strong understanding of ABL structures, collateral audits, and advanced credit risk management.
• Proficiency in advanced financial modeling and portfolio analytics.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, strategic thinking, decision-making, and executive presentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders and manage high-risk situations.

Nice to have

• MBA or CFA.
• Work-out and capital markets experience.
