Senior Data Scientist

Location: Sunnyvale, CA, United States — onsite at 1375 Crossman Avenue

Salary: $168,917–$234,000 per year, plus annual or quarterly performance incentives.

What you will do

• Develop custom statistical and machine learning models for business, product, search, and user insights.
• Build complex datasets from internal and external sources, including large-scale structured and unstructured data.
• Design learning systems to process continuous data flows and perform offline analysis.
• Train, validate, and scale algorithms across large datasets to predict user behavior, conversion propensity, and future data characteristics.
• Conduct advanced statistical analysis, A/B experiments, regression-based studies, and quasi-experimental analyses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners and project teams supporting Walmart eCommerce.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field plus 3 years of analytics or related experience; or a master’s degree plus 1 year of experience.
• Experience using SQL and Python to query, clean, and analyze large-scale data across cloud data warehouses and distributed systems.
• Experience developing and validating machine learning models in Python, including feature engineering and standard model evaluation.
• Experience with statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, A/B experimentation, regression, t-tests, ANOVA, pre/post analysis, and difference-in-differences.
• Experience automating analytics datasets and data pipelines and creating aggregate views for business intelligence tools.
• Experience identifying business metrics, designing measurement plans, and visualizing metrics with Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
