Senior Data Scientist (Field Business Functions)

Location: Remote role associated with Northbrook, Illinois, United States

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 USD per year, plus a target annual bonus of 10% of base salary.

What you will do

• Partner with business leaders and subject-matter experts to frame ambiguous problems, define hypotheses, requirements, success measures, and analytical plans.
• Own analytics and data science initiatives from discovery and data assessment through modeling, validation, implementation, adoption, and outcome measurement.
• Analyze complex datasets and develop statistical, predictive, and machine learning solutions using fit-for-purpose methods.
• Create decision-support tools, dashboards, analyses, visualizations, and prototypes using SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Excel, or related tools.
• Communicate findings, uncertainty, risks, recommendations, and trade-offs to executive and non-technical audiences.
• Coordinate delivery with data engineering, application, product, and platform teams while mentoring Data Scientists and Analysts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Analytics, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 7–10+ years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, decision science, or a closely related role.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python or R for data preparation, exploratory analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
• Strong knowledge of statistical methods, experimentation, predictive modeling, model evaluation, and analytical interpretation.
• Advanced experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools and strong stakeholder, presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills.
• Experience working in Agile environments with Azure DevOps or a comparable work-management platform.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience with business cases, KPI definition, benefits measurement, adoption analysis, or realized-value evaluation.
• Experience with causal inference, forecasting, optimization, NLP, deep learning, Salesforce data, cloud data platforms, or data lakes.
• Experience in business services, manufacturing, field operations, or complex enterprise environments.
