Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto, Portugal; hybrid working model.

What you will do

• Analyze requirements and acceptance criteria and translate them into automated end-to-end test scenarios.
• Design, implement, and maintain frontend and E2E automation with Playwright and TypeScript.
• Apply BDD practices with Cucumber and Gherkin to align test scenarios with business intent.
• Build maintainable test suites, control flakiness, and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform cross-browser, responsive, exploratory, and API validation testing.
• Document and track bugs, collaborate with developers, and improve QA frameworks and automation standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a QA Engineer or Analyst focused on test automation.
• Hands-on experience with UI/E2E automation frameworks, preferably Playwright; Cypress or Selenium are also considered.
• Solid TypeScript or JavaScript programming skills and experience with Cucumber/Gherkin.
• Knowledge of test design techniques, API testing with Postman or similar tools, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based version control.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills for working effectively in a hybrid/remote team.

Nice to have

• Experience with visual regression or accessibility testing.
• Experience extending automation to API or integration layers.
• Experience with performance or load testing tools such as k6, JMeter, or Gatling.
• ISTQB certification.
