Technical Operations Engineer (Cloud/Open Source)

Location: Hybrid role in Morrisville, North Carolina, United States

Salary: 100,300–149,600 USD per year, with the final offer based on location, qualifications, experience, and education.

What you will do

• Provide operational support for cloud-hosted nodes running on AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Respond to customer queries and incidents involving Apache Cassandra, Kafka, OpenSearch, and other supported technologies.
• Diagnose complex production issues and apply change and maintenance procedures to improve system performance and stability.
• Perform cluster migrations, upgrades, and fleet maintenance.
• Develop and improve internal automation tools, applications, documentation, processes, and procedures.
• Participate in a 24/7 rotating shift roster and collaborate with product management, development, and customer success teams.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or computer science.
• Strong Linux administration skills and confidence working from the command line.
• Knowledge of operating system internals, resource management, networking, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience supporting databases or open-source technologies in production, including standard operations, issue resolution, and performance tuning.
• Programming and scripting skills in Python, Bash, and SQL, plus experience with Git.
• Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills are required.
