Sr. Staff Platform Operations Engineer (Linux/Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Architect, deploy, and operate on-premise and cloud-based Linux infrastructure and core IT services, including virtualization, bare-metal systems, storage, and DNS.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks using Terraform, Ansible, Foreman/MaaS, Git, and scripting.
• Automate system security practices such as patching, hardening, configuration management, and compliance controls.
• Build deployment pipelines for system images, configuration, and infrastructure services.
• Administer Dell PowerStore and Pure Storage arrays, covering provisioning, performance, upgrades, troubleshooting, capacity, and data protection.
• Act as a technical subject matter expert, mentor junior engineers, maintain documentation, and participate in a shared on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 8+ years of equivalent experience in a large-scale enterprise environment.
• Expert Linux systems administration experience with distributions such as Red Hat, Rocky, or Ubuntu, including strong command-line skills.
• Hands-on Python and shell scripting experience for systems automation, tooling, and integration.
• Proven experience with Terraform, Ansible, GitHub/Git, hybrid infrastructure, on-premise virtualization or OpenStack, networking, public cloud services, and Kubernetes.
• Experience administering enterprise storage arrays, ideally Dell PowerStore and Pure Storage FlashArray.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls, secure infrastructure design, and automated security practices.

Nice to have

• Red Hat, Terraform, or public cloud certifications.
• Knowledge of cryptography, PKI, operational security, and regulated environments such as FedRAMP, PCI, ISO27001, or SOC2.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, Docker, project management, or mentoring junior team members.
