Senior Database Administrator (ClickHouse)

Location: Fully remote from Ukraine. Relocation support is available to hubs in Armenia, Georgia, Serbia, Portugal, Poland, and Spain.

What you will do

• Own the reliability and performance of production ClickHouse clusters running on Kubernetes and managed ClickHouse services.
• Design standardized architecture and tooling for dozens of multi-node clusters.
• Manage provisioning, configuration, scaling, upgrades, migrations, backups, and disaster recovery as code.
• Build monitoring and alerting, plan capacity, control infrastructure costs, and maintain secure-by-default clusters.
• Support developers, DevOps engineers, DBAs, and leadership with schema design, ingestion, query performance, and routine database operations.
• Handle production emergencies, lead database-side root-cause analysis, maintain runbooks, and contribute to postmortems.

Requirements

• Senior-level, production DBA experience with ClickHouse, including data storage, merges, replication, querying, SQL optimization, and schema design.
• Experience designing automation for large fleets of multi-node databases.
• Production experience running stateful workloads and database operators on Kubernetes.
• Experience with upgrades, backup and restore, and large-dataset migrations with minimal downtime.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across queries, schemas, Kubernetes, Linux, storage, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with observability, database security, infrastructure as code, and automation scripting or programming.

Nice to have

• Contributions to the source code of a Kubernetes database operator.
• Practical use of AI tools for database observability or operational automation.
• Experience in highly regulated environments.
• Kubernetes or cloud certifications.
