Mortgage Loan Officer

Location: Remote; Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm CST

What you will do

• Respond to inbound mortgage inquiries and conduct detailed borrower interviews.
• Explain mortgage products, rates, terms, requirements, repayment options, and costs.
• Manage mortgage applications from initial inquiry through closing, including documentation, disclosures, and status updates.
• Analyze borrower information, underwrite applications, and approve, decline, or escalate requests within lending authority.
• Coordinate with processors, credit analysts, underwriting, closing teams, title agents, appraisers, insurers, and lending partners.
• Maintain accurate HMDA data, loan records, pipeline activity, regulatory compliance, and a file quality target of at least 97%.

Requirements

• Remote work with availability during Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm CST.
• Associate degree in business, finance, banking, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 1 year of current mortgage lending experience within a financial institution.
• Active NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator Identifier.
• Knowledge of residential mortgage products, underwriting principles, documentation requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and prioritization skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
