Software Development Engineer II (AI/ML)

Salary: $111,000–$155,500 per year, with potential increases up to $177,500 based on sustained performance.

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve reliable, scalable backend services and applications for the content ecosystem.
• Develop backend features across the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
• Design APIs, data models, and clearly scoped product capabilities using service-oriented and microservice architectures.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and technical partners to integrate solutions across multiple services and domains.
• Improve service quality through testing, observability, security, performance, and operational excellence.
• Safely integrate AI/ML-enabled solutions and participate in code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 2 years of professional software development experience delivering production backend services or applications.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, with knowledge of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented or functional design, system design, API design, and data modeling.
• Experience with service-oriented or microservice architectures, APIs, data models, and reliable, scalable, secure services.
• Exposure to operating backend services in production, including monitoring, on-call support, or operational improvements.

Nice to have

• Experience designing distributed backend systems and data models handling significant traffic or data volume.
• Ownership of backend components, architectural trade-offs, and well-versioned API contracts.
• Experience with observability, automation, service performance, resilience, or cost efficiency improvements.
• Hands-on experience with AI-driven tools, platforms, workflows, or production AI/ML components.
• Experience applying metrics, experimentation, or analytics to backend design decisions.
