Lead Software Engineer – AI Coding

Location: hirify.global, New York area; the role includes production support and a 24x7x365 on-call rotation.

Salary: $121,792.21–$166,950.00 annually

What you will do

• Build and maintain secure, scalable web applications using advanced AI coding tools.
• Create test harnesses and quality gates for AI-generated code.
• Lead, delegate, and coordinate work across onshore and offshore engineering teams to achieve sprint goals.
• Implement operational best practices covering error handling, logging, metrics, graceful failure, security, and performance tuning.
• Evaluate tools and technologies and recommend improvements to custom software products.
• Perform deployments and provide Tier 2 production support during the 24x7x365 on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience building custom software with at least two modern object-oriented or scripting languages and web application frameworks.
• 2+ years as a technical lead directing engineering work, delegating tasks, and coordinating onshore and offshore engineers.
• Expertise in full-stack development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Python, and PHP.
• Expertise in AI coding tools using spec-driven development, Unix, Git, unit testing, Agile Scrum, relational databases, REST APIs, and web technologies.
• Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, infrastructure as code, Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD tools, and test automation.
