Data Engineering, Senior Manager

Location: Hybrid role based at an SCE facility in Pomona, California; employees are generally required to work and reside in California.

Salary: $182,800–$274,100 per year.

What you will do

• Set the strategic direction for data engineering and support enterprise-wide data initiatives.
• Lead data engineering teams through subordinate managers and oversee delivery of scalable, secure data platforms and pipelines.
• Direct the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise data products, integration solutions, and cloud analytics environments.
• Establish data governance, metadata management, data quality frameworks, and operational standards.
• Manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, performance metrics, and talent development.
• Partner with senior leaders across data, IT, and business functions to prioritize investments and translate business needs into technology solutions.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience supervising direct reports and/or managing projects.
• Hands-on experience processing large datasets, including transformation, aggregation, and filtering.
• Experience leading data engineering, analytics, or data platform teams with responsibility for strategy and delivery.
• Experience with enterprise data integration, APIs, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of data architecture, data management, scalability, security, quality, and operational excellence.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement and reside in California unless otherwise noted.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, SQL, Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Palantir Foundry, Snowflake, AWS, or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience in electric utilities, energy, infrastructure, asset management, or capital planning.
• Experience influencing executives and explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
