FPGA Associate (Winter 2027)

Location: San Francisco, United States. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required for compliance with U.S. Government space technology export regulations.

Salary: $1,925 per week.

Designs, builds, and operates advanced satellites for high orbits and secure satellite communications networks.

What you will do

• Develop RTL for FPGA-targeted applications.
• Work with multiple FPGAs and toolchains.
• Interface FPGAs with high-speed data converters, memories, MCUs, and other peripherals.
• Write software to interface with and test RTL in hardware.
• Collaborate closely with electrical and software engineers.

Requirements

• Hold a B.S. or M.S. in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Demonstrate hands-on hardware design and development experience and an interest in working in a fast-paced environment.
• Have experience designing, implementing, and testing high-throughput systems on FPGAs.
• Be proficient with Verilog/SystemVerilog for synthesis.
• Meet the required U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or protected-individual status for export-control compliance.

Nice to have

• Experience with UVM, advanced SystemVerilog verification, Xilinx FPGAs, Vivado IDE, or TCL.
• Knowledge of power, thermal, and real-estate implications at the system level.
• Experience with high-speed data converters, including ADCs, DACs, or JESD204B.
• Experience with circuit-level debugging, digital communication theory, LDPC, or modern RF and communication systems.
• Experience with space-based systems or a domain beyond logic design, such as DSP/radio design, software, or high-reliability design.
