Software Defined Radio Hardware Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: San Francisco, United States; onsite role

What you will do

• Design, simulate, implement, and test internally developed software-defined radio hardware.
• Bring up and debug hardware in the laboratory using advanced electronic test equipment.
• Write code to evaluate performance and automate satellite hardware testing.
• Integrate radio systems into spacecraft in collaboration with the broader engineering team.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a four-year university degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field.
• Demonstrated ability to design, build, and test PCBA hardware from scratch through student projects, competitions, or personal projects.
• Strong foundation in at least one area of electrical engineering: analog, digital, mixed-signal, or RF design.
• Passion for hands-on hardware development in a fast-paced environment.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required.

Nice to have

• Experience building or using software-defined radios.
• Experience with Altium Designer or other PCB design software.
• Experience with ADS, ANSYS, Matlab, Python, soldering, hardware rework, or EE laboratory equipment.
