Mid-Level System Test Engineer (Space Systems)

Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA. On-site only; remote and telework are not available. No relocation assistance is available. Day shift.

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and relevant certifications.

What you will do

• Develop and execute system-level test strategies, plans, procedures, and verification artifacts for satellite ground systems.
• Coordinate functional, integration, regression, performance, cybersecurity, and end-to-end mission system testing across vendors, engineering teams, Agile groups, and government stakeholders.
• Manage the Integrated Master Test Schedule for development and operational test events, integration milestones, and readiness reviews.
• Validate software builds, configuration changes, IT infrastructure, and enterprise satellite ground system components.
• Design and maintain automated test scripts for DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, deployments, and integration workflows.
• Lead anomaly tracking, defect triage, root-cause analysis, technical reporting, readiness assessments, and test leadership during integration and certification events.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of general full-time work experience, including at least 3 years of directly related experience in complex enterprise IT system testing and integration.
• Experience with servers, networks, storage systems, virtualization, system services, requirements analysis, verification methodologies, and the Systems Engineering V model.
• High proficiency in authoring test plans and test cases, leading complex test campaigns, and designing or executing test automation solutions.
• Experience coordinating across multiple vendors, engineering teams, Agile environments, and government stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile practices and secure development workflows.
• Active DoW Secret security clearance required.

Nice to have

• Experience with space mission systems or enterprise satellite ground architectures.
• DoW 8570 IAT Level II certification, such as Security+.
• Experience with DevSecOps pipelines, CI/CD workflows, automated deployments, and secure air-gapped environments.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
